Smarkets, a betting exchange with headquarters in London, wanted to strengthen its presence in a busy marketplace with a brand refresh. They had noticed as time went on that the existing, sophisticated and sleek brand they started with was not strong enough to stand out when placed alongside its big and bold competitors.
After exploring different routes, we decided that a simple typographical approach was best. It would allow us to quickly call back to the sophisticated and sleek aesthetics that customers were used to seeing while also providing a great starting point for creating a dynamic and versatile brand that could evolve in line with its growth.
